"Sex And The City 2" Opening Earns $14.2 Million

NEW YORK (CBS) The "Sex and The City 2" franchise remains in fashion, based on Thursday's box office receipts. Opening day for the sequel wooed an estimated $14.2 million from a predominately female fan base, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The New Line film is expected to top $60 million through Memorial Day on Monday.

"Sex and the City 2" and its four well-dressed leading ladies, on a jaunt to Abu Dhabi, will face off against Jake Gyllenhaal as an action hero in "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time."

NEW YORK (CBS) Two years after the first "Sex and the City" made a $400 million killing at the global box office, the sequel has been rolled out.

Ladies everywhere are getting ready to step into high gear, pulling out their most fashiona ensemble, and donning those sky-high stilettos to make a night of hanging with their favorite foursome.

The fact that "Sex and the City" has as its base these salivating fans who just can't get enough of the women and their clothes is probably a good thing. They are the only ones with stamina to get through this weary two-and-a-half- hour production.

NEW YORK (CBS) Victoria's Secret Angel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is reportedly replacing actress Megan Fox for the next "Transformers" film.

Multiple sources confirmed to E! Online that Huntington-Whiteley will be playing Shia LaBeouf's love interest in "Transformers 3."

"She's accepted the offer, and I think they're just waiting for her to get her work visa since she's British," says a source close to the production.

"Sex and the City 2," the sequel to the 2008 film that picked up where the HBO series left off, premiered Monday night at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

The film's four leading ladies - actresses Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - all walked the premiere's light blue carpet, along with co-stars Chris Noth, Jason Lewis, Mario Cantone and Liza Minnelli, who makes a cameo in the film.

LONDON (CBS) "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson, arguably the king of the box office these days, may soon be coming to Broadway.

The 24-year-old British actor, currently filming "Water for Elephants" with Reese Witherspoon, has told his reps that "stage work is something that I want to do as soon as I get a window .. it's what I trained to do and what I really miss."

But lest you think he is considering a West End opening night, the actor added, "I am open to any offers play-wise for here or Broadway".

NEW YORK (CBS) Actress Katherine Heigl tells Harper's Bazaar that her daughter Naleigh, adopted from Korea last September, won't be wearing a bikini because of scars from open-heart surgery, needed to repair her congenital heart problem.

Married to singer Josh Kelley, the 31-year-old actress opens up to Harper's Bazaar in its June issue and talks about motherhood, adoption and balancing her burgeoning film career.

"Her heart is 100 percent fine now," Heigl said. "She has a scar, so she won't be wearing bikinis, which is fine by us."

Megan Fox dropped from "Transformers 3"

LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) Megan Fox, who made her name as Shia LaBeouf's sultry love interest in the first two "Transformers" movies, has been dropped from the third.

Paramount Pictures said Wednesday that Fox's option was not picked up for part three in the blockbuster series. The studio, which released the first two movies about shape-shifting machines doing battle, declined to give further details or say who would replace the 24-year-old actress.

Fox's people confirmed she wouldn't be starring in the film, and said that it was the actress' decision to leave the series.

"Megan Fox will not be starring in 'Transformers 3,'" reps for the actress told People magazine Wednesday. "It was her decision not to return. She wishes the franchise the best."
