Lohan charged with leaving scene of NYC accident

(CBS/AP) Lindsay Lohan has been arrested in New York City on charges that she clipped a pedestrian with her car and did not stop, according to police.

Police say the 26-year-old actress was arrested at 2:25 a.m. Wednesday as she left a nightclub at the Dream Hotel on 16th Street in Lower Manhattan. Police say no alcohol was involved.

(CBS/AP) Barbra Streisand, Aretha Franklin and Liza Minnelli took turns singing songs by the late Marvin Hamlisch during a stirring memorial service for the composer on Tuesday.

Minnelli sang "If You Really Knew Me" from the musical "They're Playing My Song," Franklin gave a soulful rendition of "Nobody Does It Better" from the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me" and Streisand brought the crowd to its feet when she finished "The Way We Were" from the film of the same name.

(CBS/AP) Singer Robbie Williams and his wife, Ayda Field, are celebrating the birth of their first child, a daughter.

Williams, who rose to stardom as part of the boy band Take That, announced that the girl was born Tuesday at 3:33 p.m., and weighed in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces.

The rock drummer married Emily Ward on Saturday at the home they share in Nashville.

The Keys' publicist says the couple was joined by about 350 family and friends for the back-yard ceremony. Comedian Will Forte officiated.

"Tori underwent emergency surgery over the weekend due to complications from her C-section," a rep for the "Craft Wars" host told People on Tuesday. "She remains in the hospital and is resting comfortably."

(CBS News) Pink unveils "The Truth About Love" on Tuesday, her sixth studio album and first full-length release since 2008's "Funhouse."

The 33-year-old pop star returns with a 13-track set, full of pop-rock anthems, including "Blow Me (One Last Kiss)," which she performed at the recent MTV Video Music Awards. The album features guest appearances by singer Lily Rose Cooper (formerly Allen), rapper Eminem and fun.'s Nate Ruess.

(CBS News) Salman Rushdie gets personal in "Joseph Anton," his new memoir out Tuesday, which chronicles his more than nine years in hiding.

It all started on Feb. 14, 1989, when the best-selling author received a phone call from a BBC reporter, informing Rushdie that he had been "sentenced to death" by Islam's spiritual leader Ayatollah Khomeini. The move followed publication of Rushdie's 1988 novel, "The Satanic Verses," which was accused of being "against Islam, the Prophet and the Quran."

Soon, the famed British writer was forced underground.

(CBS/AP) Two-time Olympic snowboarding champion Shaun White has apologized for the "unwise choices" he made that left him facing charges of public intoxication and vandalism.

Police responded to the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tenn., at 2 a.m. Sunday. A drunken man identified as White pulled a fire alarm, forcing the hotel to evacuate all guests. An employee also reported seeing White destroy a hotel phone.

UK judges: Gov't must hand over Charles' letters

(CBS/AP) LONDON - Three judges on a freedom of information tribunal ruled Tuesday that the British government must hand over confidential letters to ministers from Prince Charles - a decision that could shed light on the opinionated heir to the throne's attempts to lobby politicians.

The judges decided that it is in the public interest "for there to be transparency as to how and when Prince Charles seeks to influence government."
