The casket is received with ceremony at theeast steps to the U.S. House of Representatives in honor of Ford's 24 years as a House member. His remains are met by a group of his former House colleagues. The casket lies in repose at the open House doors then is carried through Statuary Hall to the Rotunda for the Lying in State portion of the state funeral. State funeral ceremony held in Rotunda.
