CBS News Race Outlook: The White House was talking to Thomas about becoming the next Secretary of the Interior, and there was early speculation that he might run for Governor, but chose to seek a third-term in the Senate. He trounced his opponent in 2004 and raised significantly more money than his opponent. Thomas does not support a pullout of troops in Iraq until the new Iraqi government is ready to assume control. Groutage, a political newcomer, is an engineer who holds six patents. He said he would push for Wyoming’s economic security, affordable healthcare and energy independence.
