The Bush Cabinet

It's not unusual for some presidential Cabinet members to leave, especially ahead of a second term, and the Bush White House has been no exception. The first person to resign from the Bush Cabinet was Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill, who was replaced by John Snow in a push to retool the president's economic team for re-election. After the president secured a second term, Attorney General John Ashcroft and Commerce Secretary Don Evans were the first to step down from their posts, and seven others followed, making for a changeover that's on the high side for a second-term president.
