Alexandra Villarreal just completed her freshman year at the University of North Carolina. The 18 year-old journalism major found out about the auditions on the same day they were being held.
Alexandra skipped a class, printed a photo from her computer and headed to the casting call. “I couldn’t believe how many people were there with professional headshots with all of these poses,” she said. “All I had was this little print.”
Alexandra was born and reared in the suburbs of Dayton, Ohio. Outside of her high school variety show, in which she sang, Alexandra doesn’t have much stage experience. “I thought this would be a good experience,” she said “Maybe this will cause me to steer into a different path.”
Alexandra is interested in taking more drama courses when she gets back to UNC, where she has already been studying to be a television reporter.
