Newspaper reports say an unidentified member of McCoy's family first fingered him as a suspect, after which his father gave police a 9 mm Beretta handgun that has been linked to bullet fragments from the shootings. Franklin County Chief Deputy Sheriff Steve Martin said investigators believe McCoy bought another gun. A police bulletin said he was believed to have a semiautomatic pistol and ammunition.
