Sgt. John E. Allen, 25, of Palmdale, Calif., died March 17, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations.
Allen was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.
