Cpl. Matthew L. Alexander, 21, of Gretna, Neb., died May 6, 2007, in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations.
Alexander was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Wash.
