Hunter's son, Duncan Duane Hunter, a First Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, has served two tours in Iraq.
Since 1994, Hunter has accepted $40,700 in campaign donations from ADCS, Inc. and its founder, Brent Wilkes -- the same contractor at the center of the Duke Cunningham scandal.
