Amazing face transplants (GRAPHIC IMAGES) Authorities said 38-year-old Chris Kyle, a former top Navy SEAL sniper and author of the best-selling book "American Sniper," was shot to death with his friend at a Texas shooting range on Feb. 2, 2013. Kyle left the Navy in 2009 after four tours of duty in Iraq where he earned a reputation as one of the military's most lethal snipers. But he quickly found a way to maintain contact with his fellow veterans and helped them find their way through the nonprofit FITCO Cares, which offered life coaching, a daily support group and weekly group counseling. Kyle and his workout buddy, 35-year-old Chad Littlefield, were shot and killed by former 25-year-old Marine Eddie Ray Routh.
