Walter Cronkite
Walter Cronkite, second from left, got his training in broadcast journalism at Midwestern radio stations. During World War II, he covered the European theater for United Press. After the war, he served as UP's chief correspondent at the Nuremberg trials of Goering, Hess, and other top Nazis.
