L.A. Park Blaze
Towering flames threaten the Griffith Park Merry-go-Round area Tuesday May 8, 2007 as low humidity and hot winds placed southern California into an early fire season. Firefighters said they were making progress against a wildfire that roared across brush-covered hills in the city's sprawling Griffith Park on Tuesday, triggering evacuations of homes and some of the city's most famous landmarks.
