Galaxies Collide

A sampling of some of the 59 new images captured by the Hubble Space Telescope and released by NASA Thursday, April 24, 2008, of colliding galaxies that make up the largest collection of Hubble images ever released by NASA. As this astonishing array of images of interacting galaxies illustrates, galaxy collisions produce a remarkable variety of intricate structures. Interacting galaxies are found throughout the Universe.
