Rep. David Wu, D-Ore., who was elected to Congress in 1998 as the first Chinese-American to serve in the House, announced his resignation July 26, 2011, following allegations he engaged in "aggressive and unwanted sexual behavior" with a young woman who is reportedly the daughter of a longtime friend and campaign donor. "The time has come to hand on the privilege of high office," Wu said in a statement. "I cannot care for my family the way I wish while serving in Congress and fighting these very serious allegations."
