Madonna In Malawi

Children from the Kondanani orphanage walk to visit with Madonna on Oct. 5, 2006, in Bvumbwe, Malawi. Among the poorest countries in the world, just over 14 percent of the 12 million population is infected with HIV and an estimated 1 million children have been orphaned. Madonna's project, Raising Malawi, aims to set up an orphan care center to provide food, education and shelter for up to 4,000 children.
