Oscar-nominee Jennifer Lawrence will play Katniss Everdeen in the film adaptation of "The Hunger Games," scheduled to be released on theaters on March 23, 2012. The 16-year-old District 12 resident volunteers to compete in the Games after her younger sister, Prim, is selected as a tribute.
