Obesity rates are low in New York (7th) and the state spends on public health (6th). Smoking rates are also low (8th) for the state with the highest cigarette taxes in the country.

The report showed New York should improve its low high school graduation rate (39th) and do more to curb its high diabetes prevalence (40th).
