Maverick before

When Maverick's family took him in, he was already an overweight stray. But, two years later, he's gotten even bigger.

"Maverick's extra weight is really affecting his well-being," owner Dee said. "He has trouble breathing and spends most of his time sleeping. I was really shocked when the vet said he is the biggest cat he'd ever seen. We really want Maverick to get back to a healthier weight, as we want the best for him and feel sorry for the poor wee man. He is such a wonderful pet and does get treated like a baby and we would be lost without him."
