Rare posters seized by Nazis

An American Jew whose father's extensive collection of unique and rare posters was seized by the Nazis and only returned after years of legal battles is now looking to sell. A German court awarded the collection to Peter Sachs, who'd fought to get back the collection of some 4,000 posters from the German Historical Museum, in March 2012 The posters includes advertisements and propaganda dating back to the late 19th century and are worth $5.75 million to $20.44 million, according to the Associated Press. Starting on Jan. 18, 2013, auctioneer company Guernsey's will conduct the first of three no minimums auctions at the Bohemian National Hall in New York City. The auction ends on Jan. 20.
