This before-and-after comparison of aerial views of Atlantic City, N.J., shows the destruction caused by Sandy. The storm had already flooded the city's streets before making landfall at 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012. Several northernmost sections of the city's historic boardwalk, which was the first in the nation, were destroyed.
Two days after the storm hit, Atlantic City Electric said more than 132,000 customers remained without power.
