The Library of Congress continues to post striking color images from its archives of the United States Farm Security Administration (FSA) and the Office of War Information (OWI), whose photographers created a compelling document of America between 1939 and 1944.
The FSA/OWI pictures capture life in the U.S. (as well as Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands) at a time when the nation was evolving from the Depression Era to war mobilization.
Because some of the caption information for the pictures' subjects is sometimes incomplete, the Library invites viewers to send in their comments and, if possible, identifying information.
