Lady Liberty turns 125
An American flag waves behind the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island in New York Harbor Dec. 20, 2001, the first day the island was open to the public since the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. The statue itself did not reopen to the public until Aug. 3, 2004.
