Punxsutawney Phil Through the Years
Punxsutawney Phil, the weather predicting groundhog, is placed on his stump during annual Groundhog Day festivities, Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, in Punxsutawney, Pa. The Groundhog Club claimed that Phil did not see his shadow and predicted an early spring.
Every Feb.2, people gather in Punxsutawney to watch Phil look for his shadow. If he sees his shadow, it means six more weeks of winter. If he does not see his shadow, it means spring is just around the corner.
