Kiteboarder Killed By Sharks
A longtime water sports enthusiast, Stephen Schafer, was killed in a shark attack while kiteboarding off a Stuart, Fla. beach Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010. Swimmers and surfers often receive minor bites in Florida waters, but officials say fatal shark attacks there are extremely rare. Schafer was the first person killed in a shark attack in Florida in five years. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors.
