Employees of the Pratt and Whitney engine center in Cheshire, Conn., are fighting for their jobs. This past July, it was announced the Cheshire facility and a smaller facility in East Hartford would close, leaving 1,000 workers unemployed. A federal lawsuit has been filed alleging the company violated their agreement with the machinists union by not making every reasonable effort to keep the plant open.
