Burned body found along NYC shore is 14-year-old Brooklyn girl, police say

(AP) NEW YORK - Police have identified a charred and naked body found along the Brooklyn shoreline as that of a 14-year-old girl reported missing.

Police say Shaniesha Forbes' body was discovered on a beach at the south end of Gerritsen Avenue in Gerritsen Beach on Sunday. She had burns on her hands, arms and legs.

Police say the Brooklyn teenager was last seen on Friday and reported missing the next day.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.
