USC Shooting: Two suspects in custody, four people wounded at campus Halloween party, police say
(CBS/AP) LOS ANGELES - Police said two suspects are in custody after four people were shot and wounded during a Halloween party Wednesday evening on the University of Southern California campus.
About 100 people gathered for a party hosted by a student organization around 11:45 p.m. outside the Ronald Tutor Campus Center.
USC Department of Public Safety Capt. David Carlisle said two men not tied to the school got into an argument that led to one of them pulling out a gun and shooting another person. The victim was critically wounded. Three bystanders were taken to the hospital with less serious injuries.
The Los Angeles Times reports USC sent a text alert telling students to stay inside. Hours later, another text said the threat was over and classes would go on as scheduled.
Campus police did not provide any details on the two people who were detained.
