The former wife of the man who calls himself Clark Rockefeller has taken the witness stand at her ex-husband's kidnapping trial.
Sandra Boss said Monday she met the man she knew as Clark Rockefeller in New York in 1993 through a friend of her sister's, first seeing him at a "Clue" themed party at which he came dressed as "Professor Plum" and she came as "Miss Scarlett."
Rockefeller's real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter. Prosecutors say he is a German man who has used multiple aliases -including the family name of the famous oil baron- to ingratiate himself into wealthy circles in New York, Los Angeles and Boston.
He is accused of snatching his 7-year-old daughter, Reigh, in Boston in July after losing custody of the girl to his ex-wife. Authorities say he shoved a social worker to the ground during a supervised visit, then hustled his daughter into a waiting car and fled. They were both found in Baltimore six days later, the girl unharmed.
A livery driver, who acted as the getaway driver when Rockefeller took his daughter, testified earlier Monday that he was offered $3,000 to help. Darryl Hopkins admitted he followed Gerhartsreiter's instructions to drive away.
