National Bone Marrow Donor Program 1-800-MARROW-2. Join the registry. Learn about the health guidelines necessary to join the bone marrow donation registry. Donate frequent flier miles. Your travels on Northwest Airlines (NWA) could make a difference in the life of a transplant patient. Through the Northwest Airlines AirCares® program you can donate Northwest Airlines WorldPerks miles to the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). The NMDP uses these frequent flyer miles to fly unrelated marrow and cord blood transplant (also called BMT) recipients and their caregivers to their transplant centers free of charge. This service can provide tremendous relief to families already burdened by the costs of transplant.
You can help. The minimum donation is 5,000 miles, and you can donate more in 1,000-mile increments.
