Heat Up Your Night With Summer Fashions

How can your summer nights get hotter?

Lori Bergamotto, a contributing editor for People StyleWatch magazine, showed how on The Early Show Friday with four summer looks to spice up your summer nights.

She had four models with her wearing a dress, jumpsuit, sexy top and jeans and a romper, all accessorized with jewelry, shoes and evening bags.

So, when it comes to this summer fun night looks, what trends are we going to see in clothing and accessories?

Feminine dresses in flattering silhouettes and sexy, night-out tops are still very much in, Bergamotto said. She added rompers and jumpsuits are making a comeback as the two new starts of the summer trend season.

As for accessories, Bergamotto suggested, look for flirty, sparkly extras on flat sandals and for bags, opt for unique textures in bright colors.

What about hair and makeup?

Bergamotto said you should keep your hair and makeup simple, but sexy. Think sun-kissed skin, she said, with gleaming lids and glossy lips. As for your hair, Bergamotto told CBS News you should have a seductive, tousled look that says "controlled chaos."

LOOK 1: DRESS

Dress: BCBG Max Azria cotton jersey dress, $108
Earrings, Sequin Bangles: Roberta Freyman brass bangles, $135; 212-585-3767
Clutch: Roberta Freyman "Bali" cotton fold-over clutch, $95; 212-585-3767
Shoes: Charles David metallic leather heels, $215; 310-659-7110

  • The key here is to look for flowy styles that are sexy, chic, and just bare enough. A bold color like this is a departure from the little black dress but just as versatile.
  • Jersey is a cool and comfortable, stretchy material for summer.

  • This particular style, with the self-tie, lets you cinch the waist as much or as little as you need to get the nicest shape for your figure.

  • The royal purple shade is flattering on every skin tone!

LOOK 2: JUMPSUIT

Lord and Taylor Jumpsuit: Love...Ady rayon-spandex strapless jumpsuit, $78
Earrings: Banana Republic "Silver Lake Teardrop" plated iron earrings, $24
Necklace: ZAD metal chain and beaded necklace, $18
Clutch: MICHAEL Michael Kors "Berkeley" leather clutch, $198; 866-709-5677 for stores
Shoes: Jessica Simpson Collection "Celine" nappa leather wedges, $98

  • Yes, jumpsuits are back. It's a retro '70s style that gets a modern upgrade with dressy wedges or high heels. Taller women or women with leaner bodies really look best in this trend.

  • Jumpsuits are one-stop styling - just add accessories and go.

  • The loose, draping shape of this particular jump suit is breezy enough for summer nights and super chic.

  • You can take this piece either way, for day or for night. We dressed it up with killer heels and pretty gold accessories for evening.

LOOK 3: TOP

Top: Alice + Olivia viscose-elastane top, $198; 212-840-0887
Jeans: DL1961 Premium Denim "Kate" jeans, $158
Clutch: Deux Lux "Pasha" faux-leather clutch, $90
Shoes: Aldo "Pettengale" leather strappy heels, $125

  • Ring or bracelet to be added less is more with a top like this because it already has a little sparkly embellishment. So, even though this piece is a touch pricier than the others, you're actually saving some money on the jewelry-totally worth the investment. You can wear night-out tops like these with jeans, leggings, or skirts. They're pretty, drapey pieces with a whole lot of impact.

  • Asymmetric, one-shoulder cuts were all over the runways - so in right now.

  • The detail on this top makes up for the price - it's so sparkly and makes such a statement, who needs jewelry?

  • Pair the top with jeans like we have for a fun night in the city, match it with a pencil skirt for a dressy dinner, or even tone it down just by tossing on a cute jacket.

LOOK 4: ROMPER

Romper: Topshop "Fluoro Rose" playsuit, $80
Cardigan: Express half sleeve cardigan, $49.50
Earrings: Sequin gold-plated hoop earrings, $38; at Henri Bendel
Bangles: Sequin gold-braid bangles, $48;
Clutch: Lauren Merkin "Ava" lambskin clutch, $325
Shoes: Banana Republic "Linette" ruched leather pumps, $140

  • Rompers are playful one-pieces and are the latest way to show some leg. While it is a great alternative to a dress, keep in mind that it's a more youthful style that gets a garden party treatment.

  • Depending on the look, you could either wear this with a polished flat or a jazzier metallic.
