TSA gets flak for baby's KC airport patdown
Less than a month after a public outcry over a 6-year-old's patdown at the New Orleans airport by TSA agents, a photo showing TSA agents examining what appears to be the rear end of a baby at Kansas City International airport has gained a lot of attention.
Twitter user Jacob Jester, who describes himself as an "evangelist, founder of reaching innovations, son of god, husband to kristin, father to jude and cruz, pastor of @theremixlife", posted the photo over the weekend, with the description: "Just saw #tsa agents patting down a little baby at @KCIAirport Pretty sure that's extreme. Check the pic."
In response on its TSA blog, a spokesman wrote: "We reviewed the screening of this family, and found that the child's stroller alarmed during explosives screening. Our officers followed proper current screening procedures by screening the family after the alarm, who by the way were very cooperative and were on the way to their gate in no time. The child in the photo was simply receiving a modified pat-down."
In April, a TSA agent at the New Orleans airport gave a 6-year-old a pat down, even after the little girl said, "I don't want to do this," drawing rage and condemnation across the spectrum. TSA defended itself in a similar manner, saying it was just doing its job.
CBS News correspondent Bob Orr said at the time: "Privacy experts don't like it at all, the critics call it security theater, but we have to say the screener here appears to be doing her job. This patdown happens all the time ... somewhere in America. Whether we like it or not, the truth is it's part of the post-9/11 security."

How is this real news analysis? So what? The TSA screeners are doing their job. Where have we heard that before? "I was just following orders" is the usual way to phrase it though. Why not quit apologizing for this waste of money and resources that is nothing more than a farce and a human rights and constitutional abuse and instead try doing some real analysis of the legality and lack of effectivness - rather than just apologizing for yet another Obama policy? Makes me miss the Bush era (God forbid) just to get some independent analysis.
BAH, BAH, BAH line up you little sheep and drop your drawers
"Brilliant - great minds John, great minds."
I like your style Yeziam12. Your post was about 50% crap, but OH how I love the way you sell it! LOL The military really does have sleep gas that knocks people out for about 12 hours with no after effects. It WOULD work. Currently if a plane is taken over or deviates off course and goes out of radio contact, the policy is to have air force fighters shoot it down. A NORAD controlled self destruct WOULD be quicker and more certain. If we keep the planes we should take these two precautions and get rid of the TSA. In the mean time when TSA gropes you, act like it turns you on and make suggestions. Wink and ask for a phone number. Make them as uncomfortable as they make you.

""Let tourists ride buses and trains." You freaking arrogant idiot. Explain to me how I would get to Jamaica."
Take AMTRAC to Miami then hop a boat to Jamaica. Actually I was referring to large Jumbo jets not small short hop turbo-jets. So you could still fly from Miami. But really mswolfestock I think a nice Caribbean cruse would do you a world of good! LOL
If you insist on keeping huge unnecessary toys which eat ridiculous amounts of fuel, at least back the notion of increasing alcohol production to the point where we could replace jet fuel with alcohol.
The other thing to remember is that cross country jet air flight makes it virtually impossible to contain a real epidemic. The disease travels too fast that way. The slower speeds of trains and buses make containment possible (and it allows one to enjoy the scenery).
Stand in the middle of your backyard with your arms raised high. Jump 3 times while whistling the Star Spangled Banner. Now clap your hands behind your back 6 times in rapid succession.
This is absolutely guaranteed to keep all those pesky diseased pachyderms from over-running your yard.
How do I know it works? Well because we haven't had any elephants within a hundreds miles of our house since we started doing it!
I also have this bridge for sale ...
"3,000 uniformed behavior detection officers are deployed at about 175 airports and the TSA is expected to spend a total of $1.2 billion on the program over the next five years."
Those of us that have been complaining to the TSA and lampooning the pat downs won. Sorry to break the news to ya. We forced the government to put in security methods that actually WORK and will protect you far better.
Your welcome.

Supporters of the TSA repeat this:
BAA BAA BAA!
BAA BAA BAA!
BAA BAA BAA!
Now had this poster actually read this book they would understand that the denouement rests on the principle, not of the loss of civil liberty, but of mind control. It's not enough to force an agenda on you, you must BELIEVE it.
Now to me that sounds more like the sad feckwits that BELIEVED Dick Cheney when they took us to Iraq. BELIEVE that the Iraq war was for anything other than resources and war profiteering. BELIEVE the GOP when the say the only way forward is to let the financial sector tear us a new one again. BELIEVE that under global capitalism a company would ever, could ever, create a US job when if could do so overseas..........I could go on.
2+2=5........as Mr Orwell put it.
